Book Review by Damiano Carretta Dario D.C.D.

                       BOOK REVIEW:

    PERCY JAKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS

This a book that is very hard to understand so read attentivly.
This book is about Greek Mythology meeting modern life. In this book the Greek gods exist but they don't just stay in one place. They move around a lot,  wherever the Flame of Olympus is hottest they move there. From Greece they went to Rome,  then to Germany and France,  they aslo went to England. Now they are in America. If you've read about Greack mythology then you'd know that gods sometimes met with mortals and had offspring which were called "demigods".Demigods are heroes,  they do the things gods aren't botherd to do.  Gods are restrained to rules where demigods are free and can go anywhere and do anything if they're brave enough.  Now to get on with business:
Soo... do you wanna know about Percy Jakson....you do......oh reallyyy........okay, so Percy Jakson is a demigod.  But he's no normal demigod.  He's a son of Poseidon and Poseidon is one of the big three gods Zeus, Hades and Posiden. Sons of the big three are very Powerful and very Dangerous. In Manathan theres a camp spacially made for Demigods to train to fight against monsters. Monsters of Greece don't actually die they just disappear and go to Tartarus to return another day. For monsters to start attacking Demigods they need to be 11 years of age. But for a son of the big three to get attacked they need to be 6 years of age. So Percys mother married someone who covered up Percys scent quite well. So Percy wasn't attacked until he was 11 and the whole time he never knew he was a half-blood (Another term for Demigod). I can't say more for then I would expose too much.

YEAR 7 By Damiano Carretta Dario D.C.D.

                             YEAR 7

                         NEW COOL THINGS TO DO

FIND OUT EVERYTHING HERE ON THIS BLOG PAGE

This September on the 1 st we started our new school year which is way different from the old school year. we re arranged everything because new school equipment was coming in so we had to move everything.
We now have new school subjects like GEOGRAPHY, HISTORY, RELIGION and PSHE(PERSONAL SOCIAL HEALTH EDUCATION). Plus we need to do them every day so its kind of tough. We also had to move football to the afternoon.
The other cool thing about Year 7 is that we're not writing in exercise books any more. We are using files which are more formal. My favorite sujects are still History and English. I just finished writing a humorus playscript. It was halrious. This playscript is going to be sent our tutor of English in UK.
There is no Mr Alan any more because he had finished his work here and needed a new job so he had to return to England. We miss him a lot and wish he was here with us.
Our mother now teaches us all of the subjects which is kind of hard for her. We now have 3 Tutors instead of one. Our English Tutor is also the Tutor of Geography.

Thats all folks. See ye next time.

Gordon death by Damiano Carretta Dario D.C.D.

A VERY SAD NEWS: GORDON DIES A  FEW MONTHS AFTER THE MUSIC SHOW.

A few Months after the Music show Gordon, the father of Kay, died. It was very sad for all of us. Espcially to Kay and Anne, Kays mother. Anne had to go back to Scotland because she couldn't bear to stay here without Gordon. So we all would like to dedicate this message to Gordon:

Dear Gordon

We will all miss you. You were a great science teacher and you were fun to be with. But not everyone stays forever. We will always remember you as a great person. You always knew how to cheer us up in Science class. I hope Anne is reading this because this also for her. To remember Gordon. For Gordon.

                                         Chipata Homeschool.

We haven't written in this for a long time because mother forgot the address so we were stuck until our friend came and figured it out. Now we have a load of things to write in this blog but I don't have time to write in it this time. So  till next time BYE.

The Music Show

On Saturday, the 12th of November 2011, Home School Chipata hosted a Music show. The teacher was Mary Emmanuelle Roy, the students were Sean Pluger, Filippo Carretta, Kay Kelsey Urguhart, Sarah Joy Breytenbach, Dorothy Mainza Cole, Emily Taonga Cole, Ben Ezio Bonnizzi and me. The preparetions for the show had began in March and so each of us were given a piece. I did the song "Dance" on a flute. I was accompained by Marie who also played the flute. Sean did "Where Is Thumbkin" on the bells. He was accompained by his mum who also did the bells. Kay did "The Passengers" on the ukellele and sang it. Sarah, Emily, Dorothy and me did "Oh When The Saints". I had to do "Oh When The Saints" on the recorder while the others sang it. Afterwards Ben did "Au Claire De La Lune" on the recorder. Last but not least Fili (Filippo's nickname, he also has felichi steak as his nickname) did "Air De Buffon" on the flute accompained by Marie that also played the flute. Then Kay's father Gordon wanted to play the guitar and sing. So we let him and he did a very interesting and nice song that unfortunately I forgot the title. Then Marie choose 9 adults to paticipate in the music show. Marie would ask us all (Adults and Children) questions and we had to answer as fast as possible if you answered correct you got a point for your team (There were the team of adults and the team of children). The adults won 17-15. Later there was supper for everyone pizza and drinks. Then every child went into the football camp to play.
We all had a great time.
